What is Pregnancy Yoga?
Pregnancy yoga is suitable for all women from 14 weeks pregnant, regardless of their prior yoga level. Pregnancy yoga is a practice aiming at gently supporting both the physical and emotional aspects of woman in the perinatal period.
What to Expect?
Each week we relax the body and mind, we work the body gently in asana to improve strength and stamina throughout the trimesters, working on those little physical niggles that can accompany growing new life.
Most importantly we also cover aspects of pregnancy and delivery from a yogic point of view, working on breathing techniques to help make a smooth transition to motherhood. The breathing techniques taught class encompass this, working with mothers’ body and baby together very much in the moment, encouraging future mums to be in the moment and find stillness.
Prenatal yoga is also a good way to meet other mums-to-be and exercise in a stress-free and safe environment during this very delicate time of life.
What are the benefits of pregnancy yoga?
Pregnancy yoga has a lot of benefits on both the physical and mental health of mums-to-be. Here is a non exhaustive list of yoga benefits.
