Pregnancy Online Teacher Training 2020
We are pleased to announce our 2020 Online 85 hour Pregnancy Yoga Teacher Training. This is a fully accreditated Yoga Alliance Professionals UK course. This course enriches your pre-existing 200RYT Yoga teaching qualification. All applicants should have an existing Yoga or Meditation practice.
You will have the benefit of learning from two of Scotland’s most experienced Pregnancy Yoga teachers, each with their own unique style and wealth of experience.
Set over 2 weekends, with an additional 15 more hours of online lectures before each weekend, this in-depth course has been created to not only provide you with the knowledge required to safely guide pregnant students but also to leave your heart full of inspiration and wisdom to pass on to new mothers.
We teach in a way, that encourages you to really find your own unique style as a teacher and to really allow you to shine into your own true individuality.
Weekends are held via Zoom.
Friday 18.30-21.30
Saturday & Sunday 8am-17.30
Morning’s consist of Pregnancy Yoga practice, in which you will be taught various different ways of sequencing and teaching Pregnancy Classes, mornings are alternated by both teachers. Sasha teaches from an elemental background so will be teaching Earth & Water Pregnancy flows as teaching both grounding and fluid practices for Pregnancy can be so helpful during this big life change. Heather will be teaching a tailored practice from a therapeutically applied asana sequence with energetically balancing pranayama. Heather approach is intuitive movement to rebalance energy emotions and physical conditions.
Afternoons will be lectures, ending the day with blissful mantra or Savasana from both teachers.
This course experience will be held with teachers that are nourishing, supportive and will provide ongoing mentorship and development.
There are additional self-study non-contact hours to be completed at home & trainees are required to shadow x 5 of Sasha & Heather’s public Pregnancy classes. A final observed teaching exam will be required to fully gain your accreditation on this course, where you will also be given practice and teaching feedback.

Anatomy & Physiology: Conception/Trimesters, Baby Development, Life support of Pregnancy, Yoga Preparation for Delivery, Hormones of Pregnancy & effects.
Ailments: The story of Pregnancy and the effects on the physical body & how Yoga can help (i.e. the story of ‘Sciatica’ & beyond).
Subtle Energy: Chakras, particularly Svadhisthana (water element) & Muladhara (Earth element), Masculine & Feminine energy (Shakti, Feminine Mudras, Womb meditations, Pregnancy Savasana & Visualisations, Holding space, Boundaries & Protecting your energy.
Class themes: Empowerment, Making sound in birth and beyond, Managing Stress, Celebrating & honoring each stage of Pregnancy, Birthing Balls & Pools, Birthing partners and communication.

Heather Burn’s Bio: (Heather Burns Yoga)
An Ashtangi at heart & trained to an extremely high standard By John Scott and Lucy Crawford in Ashtanga, as well as many other well-known teachers, for continued development, Heather has completed many years amassing hundreds of hours of training.
Due to her background and passion for empowering women, she now specialises in Perinatal Yoga including Pregnancy Yoga and Postnatal Yoga with Baby Yoga included. With her wealth of experience and sympathetic yet playful approach, Heather intuitively guides a therapeutically tailored approach to prenatal asana and pranayama. Reading the energy of the room and the stories held within students bodies, her classes are frequently filled with health professionals: Doctors, GPs, Physiotherapists, who feel safe in her care.
Heather teaches her classes with the student in mind, meeting each student as they are on the mat. With thousands of hours teaching experience, many high-risk students and students dealing with lower risk pregnancy complications are referred onto Heather.
Heather has now been practicing yoga for over half her life, a former aspiring dancer who dabbled in circus training, she continually strives to learn more about the endless healing benefits of Yoga.
Heather has been invited to become an assessor for the British Wheel of Yoga for teachers studying pregnancy yoga and offers mentorship to those seeking to learn.
Sasha Ezzi-Irani’s Bio: (Shanti Yoga Glasgow)
Sasha (RYT500) is a yogini, world traveler and the founder of Shanti Yoga Glasgow.
Sasha’s Yoga journey started as a 17 old-year-old, through a Yoga video and books. Yoga has been a practice that has guided Sasha through the waves of life. Yoga became her fall-back during the difficult times of her life and it has been a practice that not only followed her around the world but also, through every phase of life, changing and adapting to her needs.
Mostly, self-taught, Sasha attended a class in Glasgow, by a teacher trained in India and from there, the seed was planted. Sasha eventually followed her dream and in 2008, became a student of Scarlett Mehigan of Tribe Yoga. Sasha completed her first 200 hour TT, which proved to be a life-changing course and further increased her passion for Yoga and her desire to teach. India proved to be a special place and continues to be so.
Sasha traveled the world teaching and eventually settled in Glasgow. Shanti Yoga Glasgow started in the Glasgow Steiner School then moved to the Hidden Lane for 5 years and finally, expanded to the fully renovated home in Yorkhill.
Sasha has over 900 hours Yoga training with global teachers like Shiva Rea (500 hours), Godfrey Devereux (160 hours), David Swenson (60 hours), Wh Yoga (Pregnancy Yoga), Yoga Bananas (Children’s Yoga), Tribe Yoga (200 hours), Reiki 1, 2 & Reiki Master (Holy Fire wuth lorna McLean), & Prison Phoenix Trust – Yoga in Prisons & for Mental Health & Addiction-Oxford. Sasha is a Yoga Alliance Professionals UK Senior Yoga Teacher and her Teacher Training are fully Yoga Alliance Professionals certified.
